The Royal Hawaiian is a stunning, historic venue located right in the center of Waikiki. Despite its central spot, it offers a surprisingly peaceful and tranquil environment. The building is beautifully maintained, rich with character, and the grounds, featuring a lush and well-tended garden, enhance the serene vibe. The rooms are cozy and well designed. I liked the quiet air conditioning, convenient closet, full desk and seating space, and especially the elegant wooden doors. The bedding was excellent, and everything was clean and in good shape. The pool (shared with the Sheraton) is spacious and ideal for swimming, even with many kids around. The hotel also has a wonderful collection of historic photos and artifacts that provide a strong sense of history. There were a couple of minor issues: housekeeping didn’t replenish the complimentary water after the first day, and breakfast begins at 6:30 AM. This was a bit of a letdown as I had early mornings and have previously stayed at the nearby Laylow (also a Marriott) where breakfast begins at 6:00 AM. Overall, a superb stay—serene, elegant, and bursting with character. I would certainly visit again.
