Most #EuropeGuide packages are geared towards the summer peak season, but I highly recommend experiencing Gullfoss in winter. The surrounding area, frozen white, resembles a magnificent ice sculpture, offering a serene and mystical beauty that's distinct from its vibrant summer appearance. Of course, some paths near the waterfall may be closed for safety reasons during this time, and the mist can freeze in the air, making for an extremely cold experience. However, the contrast between the blue ice walls and the endless snow-covered landscape is truly breathtaking. If you visit in winter, be sure to wear thick winter clothing, a hat, and gloves. Crampons (spikes) are especially wise, as the ground can be quite slippery. Avoiding the peak season and visiting in winter or early spring allows you to fully appreciate the true majesty of Gullfoss, free from the crowds. For those who prefer a quiet and contemplative journey, Gullfoss in winter is an unforgettable experience.
