Hsinchu Zoo - A Great Family Destination

Located in the heart of Hsinchu City, Hsinchu Zoo is an ideal place for families to explore together, learn about animals, and appreciate natural ecology. It's truly remarkable to have a zoo preserved in such a densely populated urban area!

Hsinchu Zoo is the oldest zoo in Taiwan still operating at its original site, covering an area of approximately 2.7 hectares. Though not very large, it’s perfect for a half-day family outing on weekends. The zoo mainly houses herbivorous animals, including ostriches, meerkats, orangutans, and hippos🦛. Personally, I think this is a great approach—keeping smaller animals or those with lower activity needs, as well as cute ones. The only carnivorous animal in the zoo is a Bengal tiger, and I feel its activity space might be a bit limited. However, after reading the various introductions around the park, I believe the conservation staff are dedicated to caring for these animals with great love and effort.

The souvenir shop is quite well done, offering a variety of adorable animal-themed products that are creative and high-quality. There are also cute photo backdrops📷, making it a delightful experience👍! The entrance fee for Hsinchu Zoo is very affordable—NT$50 for adults, and half-price for seniors and children. It’s a great place to visit often, as more visitors mean more funds to care for the animals!
