Visit one of Japan’s five National Treasure Castles

Inuyama Castle is only thirty minutes train ride away from Nagoya. It is a National Treasure since it is the oldest one standing. You can explore inside of the castle including the lord’s chamber. The steps are steep but the climb to the top makes it worthwhile with beautiful scenery. The hike from the train station to the castle will take you through the old street full of shops, cafes and eateries. There are also two Shinto shrines on the way up to the castle. Visit them and pray for good luck and lovers’ charm. Highly recommended to experience the old Japan.
