Ise Grand Shrine (Mie)

#mytraveldiary

Ise Jingu, the most sacred Shinto shrine in Japan, was awe-inspiring in its simplicity. Unlike many ornate shrines, its unpainted cypress buildings radiated purity and humility. Walking along the gravel paths shaded by ancient trees, I felt a profound stillness. Photography isn’t allowed inside, which made me more present in the moment. Knowing that the shrine is rebuilt every 20 years as part of Shinto tradition added depth to the experience — a reminder of renewal and impermanence. Visiting Ise felt like touching the spiritual heart of Japan. #mytraveldiary
