2024 Japanese Cherry Blossoms | See Early Cherry Blossoms During Spring Festival

The cherry blossom season in Kawazu, Izu, is from February to March. The Kawazu Town Cherry Blossom Festival runs from February 1st to 29th. Besides cherry blossoms, hot springs are also Izu's signature attraction. Approximately 800 Kawazu cherry trees are planted along the approximately 4km stretch of the Kawazu River. Add to that the blooming rapeseed blossoms along both banks, and the interweaving of pink and yellow creates a vibrant scene that soothes even the most gloomy mood. During the day, the shoreline is dotted with street vendors, and the cherry-colored taiyaki and ice cream are a real plus. At night, the cherry blossoms, illuminated by the night lights, create stunning photos.
