Hie Shrine, a Sannosha shrine in Shuzenji Temple, is said to have been built by Kobo Daishi.
It was separated from Buddhism in the Meiji era due to the separation of Shinto and Buddhism.
The grounds are surrounded by magnificent trees, including the Ichii Oak, a 25-meter tall tree with a root circumference of approximately 5.5 meters that is designated a prefectural natural monument.
The shrine is also home to the over 800-year-old "Couple Cedar," known as the shrine for prayers for fertility.
