[Hiroshima Tourism] The best season for Miyajima in Aki is right around the corner❣️

Starting in Tokyo, I gave myself 4 days to soak up the city’s energy—mixing neon Shibuya nights with peaceful Meiji Shrine mornings. From there, a quick escape to Nikko was perfect for temples in the forest and crisp mountain air. Then I took the Shinkansen to Kanazawa, where samurai streets and Kenroku-en Garden showed a quieter, elegant side of Japan before heading to the picture-perfect thatched houses of Shirakawago and charming old-town vibes in Takayama.
Mid-trip was all about Kyoto (4 nights minimum!), where every corner feels like a painting—Fushimi Inari, Gion, bamboo forests, temples galore. I did a day trip to Nara from Kyoto (the deer are cuter than you expect!) and then slid into the food scene of Osaka, which is bold, busy, and full of flavor. Hiroshima gave the trip emotional depth, with a visit to the Peace Memorial and a detour to Miyajima Island—floating torii gate views at sunset = magic.
I wrapped things up with a quiet reset in Toyama, surrounded by mountains and fewer tourists, the perfect offbeat finale before looping back to Tokyo. 🗾 Tip: activate your Japan Rail Pass just before leaving Tokyo and use it all the way through the route. Each place adds a different flavor to your Japan experience—if you're planning 3 weeks, this itinerary balances the best of tradition, cities, countryside and soul. 🌸🚄
