Hongdo Island

#summervacay Okay, Hongdo? Absolute hidden gem. It’s this tiny island off the coast of Jeollanam-do, and getting there feels like a mini adventure itself, boat ride, sea breeze, questionable convenience store snacks... 10/10 already.

The island’s all dramatic cliffs, crazy rock formations, and ocean views that hit you right in the feelings. I took one of those boat tours around the island and legit couldn’t stop saying “whoa” every five seconds. The rocks have names too (I forgot all of them, but still cool).

On land, it’s super chill, tiny villages, fresh seafood, and those sleepy coastal vibes where time kind of disappears. You won’t find Starbucks here, but you will find the best grilled mackerel of your life and locals who smile at you like you’re part of the neighborhood.

Not super touristy, which makes it even better. Bring a camera, wear comfy shoes, and maybe don’t expect full phone signal. Just vibe. Hongdo’s got that magic.
