Travel Guide to Jieyang, a Lesser-Known Destination in Chaoshan

Jieyang is home to many attractions, including Jieyang Ancient City, Jieyang Confucius Temple, Shuangfeng Temple, Jinxian Gate, and Chenghuang Temple. Many of these attractions are close to each other, making it easy to visit them all in one day.
🚎Transportation
🛫Airport: Jieyang Chaoshan International Airport ➡️ Take the airport express or a taxi to the city center.
🚅High-speed rail: Chaoshan Station ➡️ Take a shuttle bus or a taxi to Jieyang city center. ⚠️Note: Chaoshan Station is not the same as Chaozhou Station, which is a regular train station.
🛵City center: You can use Didi or rent a car to get around the city. You can also rent an electric scooter for short distances (scan the QR code with Alipay to rent one).

📍Jieyang Confucius Temple (closed on Mondays)
A must-visit attraction in Jieyang. The temple is grand and elegant, with exquisite eaves. It is the largest Confucius Temple in Guangdong and the second largest in China, second only to the Confucius Temple in Qufu, Shandong.
📍Jinxian Gate
A landmark city gate in Jieyang, a provincial cultural relic protection unit, and one of the eight scenic spots in Jieyang. The night view is elegant and beautiful.
📍Ancient City
Unlike the ancient cities of Chaozhou and Shantou, the small streets and alleys of Jieyang Ancient City are home to many historical buildings and cultural relics.
📍Shuangfeng Temple (one of the three ancient temples in Chaoshan)
📍Chenghuang Temple: The exterior is stunning! The temple is magnificent, with unique eaves and architecture. Inside, each door is decorated with portraits of historical figures. A must-visit attraction.
📍Rongjiang West Lake Park: The park is home to attractions such as Huxin Pavilion, Nine-Bend Bridge, Liyuan Garden, and an art gallery. Huxin Pavilion and Nine-Bend Bridge are the most unique attractions. Be sure to visit them when you come to the park.
📍Jieyang Tower: Jieyang Tower was built to serve as a landmark for the city. Stop by and take a photo.

Jieyang is not very commercialized, and the prices of food, drinks, and accommodation are very affordable. There are many old houses and small roads. If you are traveling alone, don't look at your phone while walking. Pay attention to your surroundings and watch your step.
