Great Short Getaway to Jieyang, Chaozhou & Nan’ao Island

Recently took a short trip to Jieyang, Chaozhou, and Nan’ao Island, and it turned out to be the perfect quick escape. Jieyang and Chaozhou are full of traditional charm, with historic streets, beautiful old temples, and amazing Teochew food — from fragrant beef hotpot to delicate kueh. Everything felt authentic and less commercial compared to bigger tourist cities.

Nan’ao Island was a refreshing change of scenery, with clean beaches, clear waters, and a laid-back atmosphere. Great place to slow down, enjoy seafood, and take in the sea breeze. Transportation between the cities and island was straightforward, making it easy to cover all three places in a short time.
