A Living Witness of Nine Centuries

#holidayitinerary

The Jieyang Confucius Temple, first built in 1140 during the Southern Song dynasty, has stood for more than 880 years as a symbol of education and culture in Lingnan. Expanded during the Ming and Qing dynasties and later restored in modern times, it remains one of the largest and best-preserved Confucian temples in the region. Its symmetrical layout, spacious courtyards, and traditional halls reflect the grandeur of Chinese classical architecture, while also carrying traces of Teochew culture. Walking through its gates feels like stepping into a living timeline where ancient scholarship meets history.
