It's not that Chengdu is unaffordable, but Jinan offers better value for money

Taking kids to see pandas, Beijing Zoo and Chengdu Panda Base are too crowded and exhausting!
After seeing the spring blooms and fragrant fruits in Hangzhou, passing through Jinan, I heard there are pandas here too - Yaji and Huao just moved to their new home, so I couldn't wait to visit~ Jinan Zoo
Admission: 25 yuan per person, free for children under 1.4 meters, seniors over 60, active military personnel, etc.
Visiting time: Half a day to a full day, adjust according to your child's stamina. We played for half a day, mainly to see the pandas
Tips: There are simple meals available inside, and on good weather days, you can also bring some food for a picnic as the place is quite spacious. If you have a young child, consider bringing a stroller.
When we visited, Yaji and Huao had already moved to their new home. To see the pandas in a more active state, try to go early in the morning. The keepers feed them at different spots, and you can watch the pandas eat and roll around on the grass live. It's harder to predict their routine if you go late or in the afternoon. Although Yaji and Huao are in two separate areas, they are very close to each other, and there's no glass in the outdoor activity area (feeding is not allowed), so you can see them very clearly and feel like you could reach out and pet them. On weekdays, it's not crowded and there's no time limit on watching the pandas! No need to make a reservation or buy a separate panda ticket.
Although they're not the top celebrities of the cat world, they're just as adorable. The easy and close 'contact' makes it a cost-effective choice for a family outing!
