Yonghe Temple (雍和宫), also known as the Lama Temple, is one of Beijing’s most famous and beautiful Tibetan Buddhist temples. It’s a peaceful, culturally rich spot right in the city, popular with locals and tourists alike.
🏯 About Yonghe Temple
Built in 1694 during the Qing Dynasty as a residence for Prince Yong (later Emperor Yongzheng).
Converted into a Lama Buddhist monastery in 1744.
It’s the largest Tibetan Buddhist temple in Beijing and an important center for Tibetan Buddhism in northern China.
