[Elegant Spring Banquet] Xianyan Garden Qushui Banquet

Sengoen Garden is located in the Ko area of ​​Kagoshima City. It belongs to the villa built in 1658 by the Shimazu family of the Satsuma clan. From the garden, you can see Sakurajima and Jinjiang Bay. Since 1992, the Banquet of Qushui has been held on the first Sunday of April every year at the Qushui Garden in Sengoku Garden to promote the elegant culture of the Shimadzu family.

During the banquet, the wine glass is placed in the stream and flows down from the upper reaches, and the 8 poets wearing the "straight" and "small sleeves five clothes" (the formal attire of the martial arts family in the Jianghu era) have to vet a verse before the glass flows in front of the poet.

After visiting the Sengokuen Garden and watching the Feast of the Curved Waters, you can also visit the nearby World Cultural Heritage "Shangko Integrated Museum", which displays historical materials about the Shimadzu family, and the workshop where you experience Kagoshima's classical craft "Samohiko"
