Sakurajima: A Beloved Landmark of Kagoshima

Sakurajima, famous for its frequent eruptions and billowing smoke, is actually just a 15-minute ferry ride from Kagoshima City's port.

On the island, there are tourist buses that stop at several attractions, making it easy to visit the spots you want to see. There are scenic observation decks and a park where Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi once held a concert.

You can also enjoy a foot bath while gazing at Kagoshima City, and the sweet and delicious Shirokuma ice cream is a must-try. Sakurajima radishes and Satsuma-age (fried fish cakes) are also available for purchase.
