"Ibusuki no Tamatebako" operated by Kyushu Railway Company (JR Kyushu)
This train is a limited express train that runs between Kagoshima-Chuo Station and Ibusuki Station, making three round trips daily. 🚂
Also affectionately known as "Ibutama," the train's heavy, half-black and half-white body is said to represent the image of Urashima Taro, whose black hair turns white when he opens the Tamatebako!
When the train opens, a puff of white smoke erupts, further recreating the feeling of opening a Tamatebako. 🎁
The interior is luxurious, and the seats are plush. 😌
As you leave town, the majestic Sakurajima appears in front of you. 🗻
If you're lucky, you might even get to see it erupt!
Also, be sure to check out the onboard merchandise, a unique feature of train travel. ✨️
This time, I bought an egg and pork cutlet sandwich,
and the "Ibutama Pudding," a two-layered dish of crème brûlée and black sesame pudding! Both were delicious, so be sure to try them when you ride!
