This shrine is famous for Kamakura's Zeniarai (coin washing)!
After entering through the torii gate ⛩ and going through the tunnel, you'll enter the sacred area, which is like a dead-end alley.
After purifying yourself at the temizuya (purification fountain), the first thing you should do is purchase a candle 🕯 and incense.
After lighting each, you can pray at the main shrine.
Put your money into a colander borrowed from the shrine office and purify it at Zeniarai Benten Okumiya.
Rather than keeping the purified money, you can return it to the shrine by taking it to the market, so we recommend using it wisely! ️
