The Kamakura Shogunate's headquarters became Kamakura, and it is said that Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine was founded here by Minamoto no Yoritomo. The lower worship hall, also known as the dance hall, located below the main hall, was built on the site of the Wakamiya Corridor, where Shizuka Gozen, a concubine of Minamoto no Yoshitsune, danced in adoration of Yoshitsune. It was a beautiful worship hall with a beautiful vermilion color.
