Kamakura City Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine⛩️

It is said to have been founded by Minamoto no Yoritomo, and is a shrine that brings good fortune and wealth.

Zeniarai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine is said to increase your wealth if you wash your money in Zeniarai water, one of the five famous springs in Kamakura, which springs here.

I also tried washing money☺️

① First, buy a candle and incense set for 100 yen at the shrine office and borrow a basket.

② Then visit the main shrine and wash your money at the inner shrine at the back of the shrine grounds.

③ Take the washed money home with you.

The washed money is called Fukusen, and it is said that it is good to let go of the purified Fukusen as soon as possible☺️

I also recommend the Mizu Omikuji, which has characters that appear when you dip it in the water of the dragon god🙂

Zeni-arai Benzaiten Ugafuku Shrine is about a 25-minute walk from Kamakura Station.

If you think you're almost at the shrine, you'll end up climbing a steep hill, so I recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

It was my first experience washing money, so it was fun😊
