The new year begins on a calm, clear winter day in Kamakura. ☀️
Even though the morning air is a bit chilly, there's something soft about walking in the sunlight.
First, we visit Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine for the first time.
Looking back as we climb the long stone steps, we enjoy a panoramic view of the temple grounds and the cityscape, naturally preparing our minds for the new year. ⛩
After our visit, we head toward Yuigahama and head to Matsubara-an. In the tranquil space of a renovated traditional Japanese house, we savored seasonal appetizers, tempura, and fragrant handmade soba noodles.
Each dish, including tofu, duck loin, and deep-fried vegetables, was carefully prepared, creating a quiet, luxurious New Year's lunch.
After dinner, we took a short stroll to Yuigahama, where the winter light shimmered.
We spent a pleasant afternoon listening to the sound of the waves.
Kamakura is a place of history, nature, and a place where time flows leisurely. It was the perfect little trip to kick off the year. 🎍
Why not start the new year off in Kamakura?
