格聂 is back, and I sincerely recommend visiting during the National Day holiday... If you're planning to explore the southern route of 格聂 during the holiday, don't go unprepared and rush in blindly!
Peak season + rainy season + high altitude sickness + traffic jams + strong UV rays
Scorching sun, howling winds, and sudden rain showers
Any one of these factors can be overwhelming 😭
However, it's not to the point of being a "must-avoid" destination. You just need to pick the right timing, travel method, and prepare well‼

🖼️格聂 Southern Route Highlights
格聂 Sacred Mountain: At an altitude of 6,204 meters, the snow-capped peaks pierce the clouds, radiating a holy brilliance under the sunlight—so stunning it leaves you speechless.
格聂之眼 (Eye of 格聂): In summer, the lake is full, surrounded by snow-capped mountains, with a ring of crimson water plants along the shore, resembling the eye of the earth.
措普沟 (Cuopu Valley): The Cuopu Lake in the Cuopu Valley Scenic Area is surrounded by a sea of flowers. Snow-capped mountains, lakes, and flower fields—it's truly breathtaking! It's best to visit in the afternoon for optimal lighting.
下则通村 (Xiazetong Village): The hometown of Ding Zhen, with open views and clusters of wildflowers. You can see distant snow-capped mountains and forests, and if you're lucky, you might spot a rainbow at the village's wild hot springs.
冷古寺 (Lenggu Monastery): The red walls and golden roof framed by the 格聂 snow-capped mountains create an unparalleled atmosphere.
格底拉姆 (Gedilamu): A popular spot for photographing the golden glow of the sun on the mountain peaks. The golden light on the snow-capped peaks makes every shot a masterpiece.

✅ Travel Tips
⚠️ If you get carsick, remember to bring motion sickness pills 💊. The winding roads can easily make you nauseous.
⚠️ Note that 则巴村 (Zeba Village) and 下则通村 (Xiazetong Village) are not the same place. Don't confuse them. Zeba Village has better scenery, while Xiazetong Village is Ding Zhen's hometown.
⚠️ Rainy season doesn't mean it rains every day! Check the weather and temperature carefully, and choose a week with relatively higher temperatures for your visit.
⚠️ If you want to hike, there are some light hiking routes that take about 4 hours in total, but they require some physical stamina. In the wilderness, always follow the signs and don't wander off.
⚠️ You might experience "four seasons in one day"—sudden rain showers are common! Be sure to bring a windbreaker and raincoat. In summer, you can wear dresses in low-altitude areas.
⚠️ Prioritize hiring local experienced drivers! They are familiar with the routes and can handle traffic jams or unexpected situations during the summer.
