No need to wear makeup in Western Sichuan—it’s pointless anyway 🫠

Before coming to Western Sichuan, I thought I was invincible. I read so many guides and packed tons of makeup, determined to take the perfect photos at every scenic spot. But the moment I arrived at the hotel, my heart shattered 💔. I hadn’t even gotten altitude sickness 😵💫 yet, but my makeup did—my face cream burst out unexpectedly when I opened it❗️ Here’s some genuine makeup advice for sisters planning a trip to Western Sichuan!!
🪞 Makeup Tips:
✅ Skip contact lenses—Western Sichuan is dry, and your eyes might feel uncomfortable due to high pressure. Opt for prescription sunglasses instead.
✅ For pump and spray products, turn them upside down and press to balance the air pressure before first use. This prevents leaks later.
✅ Bring tube products that are already half-used! Before opening, shake them upside down to remove air, then tighten the cap. This usually works fine.
✅ Wrap liquid eyeliner in tissue before opening to avoid splatters. But skip liquid liners—go for pencil or even eyeshadow as eyeliner instead.
✅ Avoid small refillable bottles—they often leak due to poor quality and weak seals.
✅ The plastic wrap trick: Individually wrap each skincare item before your trip. For tubes, wrap extra layers to prevent leaks.
✅ Unless you have super self-control, I’d suggest skipping makeup altogether. Western Sichuan is stunning—just sunglasses and a bold lipstick will do. Plus, you’ll be exhausted by the time you get back to the hotel each day, and waking up early is tough. Extra sleep is a blessing!
