Kaohsiung Qiaotou Sugar Refinery

#SeptemberDestinations2025

🏭 The Kaohsiung Qiaotou Sugar Refinery (also known as the Taiwan Sugar Museum) was Taiwan's first modern mechanized sugar refinery. Founded in 1901 during the Japanese colonial period, it bears witness to the glorious history of Taiwan's sugar industry. Transformed into a museum in 2006, the museum has preserved historical relics, including the sugar refinery, Japanese-style wooden houses, air-raid shelters, and red-brick water towers. The museum showcases the sugar production process and industrial artifacts. The park blends industrial heritage, artistic creation, and natural beauty. Visitors can take a five-minute sightseeing bus and sample Taiwan Sugar ice cream, creating a cultural attraction that combines education and leisure.
