Speaking of the most worthwhile shrines to visit in Kyushu, Yutoku Inari Shrine in Saga Prefecture is definitely on the list✨. This gorgeous shrine, known as the "Sunlight of the West", is one of the three major Inari shrines in Japan. Whether it is the architecture, scenery or spiritual atmosphere, it leaves a deep impression.
The first thing that comes into view is the majestic red torii gate. After passing through the shrine, you can see the vermilion main hall building, which is built along the mountain and is majestic. The main hall on the mountainside is built in an elevated style, which is somewhat similar to Kiyomizu Temple in Kyoto. Standing on a high place and overlooking the beautiful scenery of the entire Kashima countryside, it is refreshing🗻.
Don't miss the dreamy "Thousand Torii Tunnel", where the sun shines through the shadows of the trees, and the sound of footsteps and wind chimes interweave to create a quiet and poetic feeling. Going up the stone steps, you will find a small shrine and a fox stone statue hidden in the woods, quietly guarding every traveler who comes to pray💫.
There are also painted horses and wind chimes on the prayer wall in the shrine. Write down your wishes and hang them on the wind chimes. Listen to them swaying in the wind, as if your wishes will be gently sent to the sky🎐.
📍Location: Kashima City, Saga Prefecture|Yutoku Inari Shrine
🚃 Transportation: You can take a bus from JR Hizen Kashima Station
⏰ It is recommended to reserve 2-3 hours and walk slowly and feel it🌾
