Katori Shrine (Chiba)

Katori Shrine is the Ichinomiya of Shimousa Province (northern Chiba Prefecture) and the head shrine of the approximately 400 Katori Shrines nationwide. Together with Kashima Shrine and Ikisu Shrine in Ibaraki Prefecture, it is known as one of the "Three Eastern Shrines." In recent years, it has also been attracting attention as one of the "Kanto region's leading power spots." Recommended tourist spots nearby include the bronze statue of Ino Tadataka, his former home, memorial hall, and the Sawara Traditional Buildings Preservation District.
