🇯🇵Shizuoka｜Izu Kawazu Sakura🌸The best place to enjoy cherry blossoms in Kanto in February

Want to #cherryblossom viewing during the February holiday but worried that the cherry blossoms haven't bloomed yet? It doesn't matter, #ShizuokaIzu, which is a 2.5-hour drive from Tokyo Station, has a 3-kilometer-long Kawazu Cherry Blossom Road along the #Kawazu River! There are more than 8,000 cherry trees. Under the blue sky and white clouds, the pink Kawazu cherry blossoms bloom against the golden rapeseed fields, which is spectacular.

Starting from the beginning of February every year, the #河津樱花节 is held for a whole month. During the day, there are lively mobile vendors, the most famous of which is the sakura taiyaki; and after the lights are turned on at night, it is another different visual experience. Compared to the famous cherry blossom viewing spots in the urban area, Izu Kawazu Sakura is a very good cherry blossom viewing spot because it is 3 kilometers long and can relieve the feeling of crowds! I also saw many tourists bringing their own food to have a picnic on the river bank, which was really pleasant 😌

Walking north along the river bank, you will come across the "#峰温泉大喷汤公园", which erupts about once an hour (warm reminder, please watch the wind direction to avoid getting soaked XD). You can buy raw eggs at the sales counter to boil #温泉蛋 .

It is recommended to arrive early in the morning when there are fewer people. You can make a round trip on the same day, or stay overnight to enjoy the night cherry blossoms and visit Shizuoka. If you go further, you can also include Mount Fuji in your itinerary.

From Tokyo Station/Nagoya Station: Take the Shinkansen to Atami Station, transfer to JR to Kawazu Station, and walk along the signs after exiting the station. It takes about 2.5 hours/3 hours respectively.
