A day of wind and sea watching at Heping Island Geopark

#MarchGoodPlaces2025
Heping Island is a "land-connected island" that connects Keelung and the northern end to the main island of Taiwan. The island is hit by the northeast monsoon and the waves all year round, forming a natural geological beauty.

Heping Island Geopark has a unique topography. Due to long-term weathering erosion and wave impact, mushroom-shaped rocks, tofu rocks, sea erosion platforms and other unique geological landforms have been formed on the coast, just like a sculpture art gallery. There are ten rocks with special shapes, such as rabbit, pig's feet, sea lion, mudskipper, etc. (It still depends on your imagination!)

The Geopark is designed with the minimum number of artificial facilities. It has a seawater swimming pool and a water-friendly pool to suit the needs of people of all ages. In addition to playing in the water, there is also Alabao Bay where you can arrange a guided tour. Especially when you look out to sea from the trail, it feels like a passage leading to the blue sea. In addition, there is a fun grindstone slide on the beach and a nice trail around the island. Heping Island Park also has installation art for people to take pictures of. You can really have a leisurely day here!
