A day trip to Kobe from Osaka

#osakaitinerary

Kobe has been long world-known for its beef, but not many are aware it’s within convenient distance from Osaka by just public transportation where an one-way trip could take around (or less than) 500yen and half an hour!

One of the most important things to do with Kobe, certainly, revolves around Kobe beef. BUT do reserve your favourite Kobe restaurant at least 3months in advance. All of the reasonably priced, long-established Kobe beef restaurants are usually prebooked that far ahead. Else you’d have to be left with the fancier and thus pricier eateries that you can find along the streets like I do.

Nonetheless, you’d likely be able to enjoy a great Kobe meal, just the price-performance ratio might differ from place to place.

The second must-do in Kobe would be going up Mount Rokko for the so-called one of the best three night views in Japan. Coz on top of Mount Rokko, one would be able to oversee the entire city of Osaka, which is the 2nd largest city in Japan. So just imagine.

But my sound advice is: do arrive a few hours earlier than sunset. There are plenty of museums and sites to visit up the mountain. Since you’re paying for the cable car up anyway, don’t waste it.
