#springitinerary Kochi Castle is one of those underrated spots in Japan that totally surprises you. Unlike many other castles, it’s super accessible and still has a lot of its original charm. When you walk up to it, you can’t help but be impressed by how well-preserved it is. The castle itself is perched on a hill with views of the city and the coast, honestly, the scenery alone makes the short climb totally worth it. Inside, you can explore the original wooden interiors and learn about the history of the place, which is surprisingly chill compared to other more crowded castles.
The grounds around the castle are great for a stroll too, with beautiful gardens and a peaceful vibe. It’s not packed with tourists, so you can really take your time and enjoy the spot. If you’re in Kochi, it’s a must-see for both history buffs and anyone looking to escape the crowds.
