Go see the sunset on Koh Kood.

Koh Kood is the fourth largest island in Thailand, after Phuket, Koh Chang and Koh Samui. It is located in the Gulf of Thailand. The island is managed as part of Koh Kood District in Trat Province. The island is still completely natural, with mountains and flat plains that are the origins of streams. This makes Koh Kood famous for its waterfall, Khlong Chao Waterfall, which has water flowing all year round. On the west coast of the island, from Ao Yai Kee, Klong Chao Beach, Ao Phrao Beach, Ao Ngam Kho, Ao Bao Beach, Klong Hin Beach, Ao Phrao to the end of Laem Thian, all have beautiful sandy beaches, clear water, and peaceful nature, shaded by coconut trees along the beach. In addition, Koh Kood also has a complete mangrove forest and various types of coral reefs, including Koh Raet and Koh Mai Si, which are close to Koh Kood.

Traveling from Bangkok to Koh Kood

There are 3 ways to travel from Bangkok to Koh Kood: by private car, by bus and by plane to the pier first, then by boat to Koh Kood.
1. Drive your own car
It takes about 5 hours. You need to know which company's boat you are using. Then park your car at the company's parking lot (there is a parking fee). You should arrive at the boat office at least 45 minutes before departure.
2. Take a tour bus
You can board the bus at Ekamai Bus Station and Mochit Bus Station. It is recommended to book a bus schedule before traveling and choose the earliest bus departing at around 5:00 AM. The tour bus takes about 6 hours to arrive at Trat Bus Station. Then you have to take a songthaew to the boat office, which takes about 30 minutes.
3. Take a plane
Take a Bangkok Airways flight from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Trat Airport (1 hour). Then rent a car to the boat office (about 1 hour).
Note: All forms of transportation must go to the boat office first every time and must arrive about 45 minutes before the boat departs. Then the boat company will take everyone to the pier to board the boat to Koh Kood.

There are 3 main boat companies that provide service: 1. Boonsiri Speedboat Company 2. Koh Kood Express Company 3. Princess Company

How to get to Koh Kood

When the boat arrives at Koh Kood, there will be a shuttle bus from the boat company to the resort. Tell the staff which resort you want to go to and they will tell you which car to take.

Note: We stayed at Jungle Resort. The pictures are at the back. The accommodation here is quite far away. It is close to nature, but the price is not expensive.
