Tiger Cave Temple in Krabi is a famous temple for its beauty and is a place for religious practice for those who love merit. It is located in a forest area surrounded by trees, making it peaceful and shady.
The name of Tiger Cave Temple comes from a natural stone that looks like a tiger's paw inside the cave. It is assumed that in the past, it was a habitat for tigers. Tiger Cave Temple was built by Luang Por Chamnian Silsetta in the late 1970s, and there was a practice of Vipassana meditation in this cave.
Facilities and important places
- Viewpoint: Tiger Cave Temple is located on the top of Khao Kaew, approximately 600 meters above sea level, and has a beautiful view. You can see the view of Krabi town and the forest in all directions.
- Sea of mist viewing point: During September-January, there will be a beautiful sea of white mist cutting through the mountain peak.
- Buddha statues and pagodas: On the top of Khao Kaew, there is a large golden Buddha statue and a large bell pagoda.
- Caves and natural sites: The temple area has various caves such as Tham Mu Suea, Tham Khanthara, Tham Lod, Tham Chang Kaew, Tham Luk Than, Tham Pla Lai, Tham Chang Kaew, Tham Ngu, Tham Tao, and others.
