On my recent family trip to Kuala Lumpur, we made a stop at one of my favourite shopping malls — The Exchange TRX. Beyond all the shopping, we were also craving some good food.
Our lunch stop was at Hot Bird @The Exchange TRX, a fast-food spot that serves up some truly great fried chicken. The chicken was tender, incredibly juicy, and packed with flavour. Seasoning was well-balanced — bold enough to give each bite a satisfying kick, but not overwhelming.
What I especially enjoyed was the option to choose your own spice level. Whether you prefer it mild or crave the heat of super spicy, Hot Bird makes sure every bite suits your taste. A simple yet satisfying meal that hit all the right notes!

Dinner turned out to be a real treat when we dined at Donkai (丼魁), a Japanese restaurant known for its handmade hamburg rice bowls.
Donkai beautifully blends the culture of solo dining with a social atmosphere, offering a lively yet cozy setting. It’s not only a place to enjoy high-quality Japanese rice bowls but also a space to appreciate the ritual of dining and the joy of sharing a meal together.
My favourite dish was the Wagyu Beef with Skewer — tender, juicy, and simply delicious. To top it off, the service was excellent; our server was professional, friendly, and very attentive, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.
