Suizenji Jojuen Garden is a historic garden over a hundred years old in Kumamoto (the hometown of Kumamon).
Upon entering the garden, you will find a large pond surrounded by trees, small hills, and beautifully maintained traditional Japanese landscaping.
In addition to enjoying the beautiful garden, there is also the ancient Izumi Shinto Shrine where you can pay respects and make wishes.
Tips:
- At the garden entrance, there is a kimono rental shop for both women and men. The shop owner is very kind and helps you choose the perfect outfit.
- Outside the garden, there is a small pedestrian street filled with souvenir shops.

How to get there: Take the Kumamoto city tram and get off at Suizenji Park Station (about a 5-minute walk).
