Kumamoto Castle is seriously a historic gem and an absolute must-see in Kumamoto! 🏯 The vibe here is pure old-school Japan—think massive stone walls, dramatic gates, and iconic castle towers. Even though most of the info onsite was in Japanese, just soaking up the scenery and legendary history here was still sooo worth it.
Quick heads up: We visited in summer, and the heat was intense! Bring a water bottle and slap on that SPF—trust me, you don't want to roast while walking around those castle grounds.
Basic Info Drop:
Address: 1-1 Honmaru, Chuo Ward, Kumamoto, 860-0002, Japan
Opening Hours: 09:00-17:00 (admission ends at 16:00), closed Dec 29
Admission Fee: ¥390
But even with the language barrier, you can totally vibe with the epic scale of Kumamoto Castle. The grounds are stunning and perfect for snaps to flex on your socials 📸. If you crave those ancient Japan feels, this spot delivers!
