This city makes outsiders not want to leave… 🌈
☀️ Climate: Spring City? More like a paradise experience card!
What’s “spring all year round”? Kunming directly wholesales “permanent spring membership”! Winter? Doesn’t exist here. Down jackets are useless; the cherry blossoms, camellias, and jacarandas randomly appearing on the streets are the real seasonal judges. While friends from the north are wrapped up like zongzi, Kunming locals wear light shirts, bask in the sun, and sip coffee. Even the local dogs on walks have a lazy vibe. Just beware of the ultraviolet rays, the “sunlight assassin” who’s overly enthusiastic—apply sunscreen in three layers, or you’ll turn into the “highland red limited edition” in a day!
🍜 Food: A bowl of rice noodles sparks a “taste bud rebellion”
When that bowl of ethereal, steaming-over-bridge rice noodles is served, outsiders’ stomachs immediately sign a “residency agreement”! Thinly sliced meat and fresh vegetables dipped in the boiling chicken broth make the ritual complete. The first sip of soup makes your soul shout, “Worth it!” Not to mention the wild mushrooms that debut every summer—green mushrooms, chicken mushrooms... so delicious they can temporarily make you forget the risk of “seeing dancing little men” (don’t worry, they’re absolutely safe when cooked!). Any small street shop’s tofu pudding rice noodles, grilled rice cakes, or flower cakes will make your taste buds shout: “Kunming, forever the best!”
🌺 Culture: A sea of flowers and slow life, anyone who leaves is silly!
At the Dounan Flower Market, romance is sold by the pound! Ten yuan gets you a big bouquet of roses, making you feel like the star of a romantic drama. The seagulls at Green Lake are the true “local natives,” showing up on time in winter to “rob” tourists’ bread—both arrogant and adorable. Elderly folks sunbathing by the roadside play cards and chess at a leisurely pace; time here seems to run at half speed. The “scariest” thing is, after a few days, you’ll unconsciously sit on a café terrace, staring at the clouds all day… What KPI? What 996? At this moment, all you want to say is: Boss, I want to take a long vacation… no, I want to settle down here!
(Psst… Don’t ask why you don’t want to leave. The answer is being completely “kidnapped” by the gentle embrace of the “Spring City,” one bowl of rice noodles and one flower at a time!)
