Compared to Wuzhen, I love this lesser-known ancient town near Shanghai even more

It wasn’t until I visited Zhujiajiao Ancient Town near Shanghai that I realized how charming an ancient town without excessive commercialization can be!
🌿 Here, there are no repetitive trendy shops, only a beautiful and quiet Jiangnan water town!
·
🚇 Transportation: 🚗 Drive and navigate to Zhujiajiao Ancient Town Entrance 1 or Entrance 2, plenty of parking available, no worries about parking~1 hour from Jiangsu and Zhejiang🉑, 0.5 hour from Shanghai🉑!
🎫 Admission: Free.

📸 My secret route:
Zhujiajiao Ancient Town Entrance 1 → Kezhi Garden (the garden is perfect for photos!) → Hexin Garden → Fangsheng Bridge (a must-visit landmark of the ancient town) → Taian Bridge → Yuanjin Zen Temple → Beidajie Street (a street full of delicious food!) → Covered Bridge → Zhujiajiao City God Temple → Zhujiajiao Qing Dynasty Post Office (a paradise for vintage and art lovers)

On this trip, I checked in at the newly opened Sheraton Hotel by Dianshan Lake, just half an hour from Hongqiao, very convenient transportation. The new hotel has complete facilities and a great environment! Stylish yet businesslike layout, full of a chic vibe!
What impressed me most was the tree right in front of me, a stroke of genius, full of Chinese aesthetic charm.
The dishes at the Chinese restaurant are also unforgettable, highly recommend the Cantonese cuisine, very authentic; the hotel also offers afternoon tea, perfect for relaxing and chilling, with a great atmosphere.
The heated swimming pool 🏊🏻‍♂️ is thoughtfully designed; of course, the guest rooms are the most satisfying, with bedrooms facing the lake, allowing full relaxation of body and mind, and you can enjoy the beautiful Jiangnan scenery right from the room! After a tiring day exploring the ancient town, returning to the hotel to rest is truly leisurely and comfortable.
