Shuikou Rainbow Waterfall is one of the two main waterfalls in Jinggang Mountain, located to the left of Wuzhi Peak. Formed by two natural boulders, it resembles a giant mouth, swallowing up the two mountain streams flowing from Shuangma Rock and Bamian Mountain into a single, clear river.
Then the clear water in the river overflows violently from the corner of its mouth, gushing down along the cliff, spitting out pearls and jades rolling in the air, and finally forming a 96-meter-high and more than 10-meter-wide trapezoidal waterfall that we see. It is very spectacular, and the water mouth got its name from this.
As visitors ascend the stone steps, a rainbow appears above the waterfall, and as they descend, a rainbow appears below. Hence, it's also called Rainbow Falls. Calligrapher Li Duo, inspired by the scenery, composed a poem titled "Visiting Shuikou": "Spring colors condense at Shuikou, rainbows fall across the twin streams. The stone gate cannot be shut in, monkeys and birds fly east and west. Looking up, I see the springs below, the deep pool flows like jade. Idle clouds drift by in the distant sky, smiling and joyful."
The subtropical monsoon climate is humid. In the summer, between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM, the sunlight shines on the waterfall, creating a dazzling rainbow. Summer is the best time to visit.
Shuikou Rainbow Waterfall often reveals its true appearance in the summer mornings. The scenery is very spectacular and worth seeing.
It is recommended to play for about 1 hour.
This attraction is free and included in the scenic area pass of 160 yuan per person.
