It takes about 10 minutes to walk from the station to Tofukuji Temple.
There are many lodgings and temples on the way there!
During the autumn foliage season, depending on the time of day, the road to Tofukuji Temple is so crowded with people that you can't go through, and even if you do manage to get in, you'll have to be jostled by people to see the autumn leaves...I read a report in advance that said this, so I headed to Tofukuji Temple first thing in the morning!
I've been there in the summer as well, and when I headed there first thing in the morning, the roads were not crowded, just like in the summer!
When I entered the area where you can see the autumn leaves (Tsūtenkyo Bridge), there were already a lot of tourists there.
But it was still at a level where I could enjoy the view at my own pace!
I recommend going early in the morning!
The autumn leaves that cover the vast grounds are truly overwhelming!
Tofukuji Temple has a large area, and there are other things to see besides the autumn leaves.
