Getting There: 2 Ginkakujicho, Sakyo Ward, Kyoto, 606-8402, Japan
Attraction: Jishoji (Silver Pavilion)
Kindly known as one of Kyoto's most famous architectural landmarks, Ginkakuji is actually officially called Jishoji. Originally, the Kannon Hall was planned to be covered in silver, inspired by Kinkakuji, but due to financial difficulties of the shogunate, it was finished with a simple black lacquer.☺️
While not particularly ornate, it is beloved for its unique simplicity and serene beauty. It is a World Heritage Site and a Japanese National Treasure.👍
