Kinkakuji Temple
⛩️🎏🍁Kinkakuji Temple, or as Thais know it as Kyoto's Golden Temple, is outstanding in both architecture and the beautiful art of the Golden Pavilion, which has been registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
🍂🍁🎋This temple's official name is Rokuonji Temple, which means Deer Garden Temple. It was built in 1397 as the residence of Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimitsu. During the Onin War, the temple was burned down and rebuilt in 1955, preserving its original identity. It has also been continuously restored, especially using gold leaf to create the beauty we see today.
🙏⛩️🎏The Golden Pavilion is a three-story wooden building, 12.5 meters high, used as a shariden or relic storage place. This architectural style was used at Ginkaku-ji and Shōkoku-ji Temples.
