Kyoto's famous scenic spot #平野神社 has been a famous cherry blossom viewing spot since the Edo period. There are more than 50 species and more than 400 cherry trees planted in the cherry garden, from the earliest Kawazu cherry blossoms to the weeping cherry blossoms and Somei Yoshino cherry blossoms that bloom one after another, and the flowering period can last up to one month.

In addition, during the flowering season, Hirano Shrine also implements nighttime cherry blossom illuminations. The beautiful night cherry blossoms are called "Hirano Night Cherry Blossoms", which is as famous as the night cherry blossoms in Gion and is a must-see flower viewing spot in Kyoto. During the Sakura Festival, admission to the Sakura Garden is ¥500.

Hirano Shrine is close to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. To get there, take city bus No. 15, 50, or 205 and get off at Kinugasa-gyomae stop. It is a 1-minute walk from the Shrine. From Kyoto Station, the journey takes about 40 minutes.
