Fushimi Momoyama is a historic area of Kyoto. First, we went to see the 1,000 torii gates of Fushimi Inari Taisha Shrine. The sight of the endless torii gates was overwhelming, and the vivid red color created a mysterious atmosphere. Next, we visited Teradaya. This is a place where Ryoma Sakamoto was involved, and we were able to touch upon the history of the end of the Edo period and feel the atmosphere of that time while touring. As we walked and looked at the townscape, the streets continued to show the traces of history, and we felt like we had traveled back in time. We also experienced a tour of the Uji River on a 10-koku boat. We were able to enjoy the surrounding nature and scenery as we went along the river, and it was a very peaceful moment. After learning about the history and manufacturing method of sake at the Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum, we were able to sample the sake, which was a great spot for sake lovers. Fushimi Momoyama was an area with a calm atmosphere where history and scenery were well combined.
