Millet cake place Sawaya red bean dumplings

📍Address: 838-7 Kamiyagawacho, Kamigyo Ward, Kyoto, 602-8384 Japan

🕰️Business hours: 0900-1700

🏖️Atmosphere/Facilities: This is a 300-year-old Kitano specialty. You must visit this restaurant after visiting Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. It has a traditional old flavor of Kyoto. It is a two-story traditional Japanese shop with tatami seats in the Japanese-style room. You can order a cup of hot tea and enjoy Japanese sweets inside. However, there are not many seats and there are many people, so it is more convenient to take out.

💞Special recommendation: There are two kinds of millet cakes in the store. One is made of mochi wrapped with red bean filling and made into balls, and the other is made into strips and dipped in soybean powder. Both flavors have excellent taste, strong ductility and will not stick to the teeth. The ratio of red bean filling, soybean powder and mochi is just right, sweet but not greasy, and paired with herbal tea, it is super satisfying.

💰Average consumption per person: ¥600 for three, ¥750 for five.

🗓️Rating: 4.8 stars (out of five)
