Fushimi Inari Shrine- more than just the torii gates!

Fushimi Inari Shrine is famous for its thousands of torii gates that cover some of the trails behind its main buildings. ⛩️

The these trails lead into the wooded forest and up Mount Inari.

Some may be deterred by the vast amount of foreign tourists, I know we initially were, however, there are many alternative trails, with barely any hikers.

We took a path less traveled and found ourselves surrounded by a serene bamboo forest and explored a number of shrines on the way to the top.

We then opted to walk back down one of the more popular paths and managed to get some beautiful photos of the torii gates.
