Kyoto often brings to mind traditional temples and tranquil scenery, but it's actually a great city for shopping, culinary delights, and simply strolling.
First, I enjoyed shopping around Shijo Kawaramachi and Nishiki Market, the city center. From uniquely Japanese trinkets to sophisticated fashion brands, there was a wide variety, so I lost track of time just browsing. 🛍️.
In the evening, I finished the day with a hearty nabe (hot pot) meal, which paired perfectly with the chilly Kyoto night air. The warm broth, fresh vegetables, and meat blended perfectly, completely relieving my fatigue! 🍲✨
After dinner, I took a leisurely stroll through Gion Street and the Kyoto alleyways. The soft lighting and quiet atmosphere allowed me to experience a unique Kyoto charm, different from the bustling tourist areas. 🌙🏮.
👉 Tip: Many of the nabe restaurants are small, local favorites, so if you go without a reservation, you might have to wait. I recommend stopping by early after shopping!
