Kiyomizu-dera⛩️ is a very famous temple among tourists and devotees, as evidenced by its throngs of visitors even during off-peak season.

The temple dates back over 1,250 years to its founding, located midway up Mount Otowa, one of the peaks in Kyoto's Higashiyama mountain range.

Many visitors come to pay their respects 🙏 to Kannon, the deity of great mercy and compassion. For this reason, the temple is also known as "Kannon Reijo," with "Reijo" in Japanese meaning "sacred place."

Admission is 400 yen.
