[Kyoto] A power spot in Kyoto with beautiful autumn leaves

Visited in November 2022
Ohara, Sanzen-in

Sanzen-in is a Tendai sect temple located in Ohara, Kyoto☺️

Its origins date back to the 8th century, when Saicho built Enryaku-ji Temple on Mount Hiei, and it is said to have begun as a hermitage built under a pear tree. In the late Heian period, members of the imperial family began to enter the temple, and they continued to serve as chief priests thereafter✨

After the Meiji Restoration, it moved from downtown Kyoto to Ohara and was named "Sanzen-in"☺️

The autumn leaves were at their peak and it was very beautiful🍁
