DARAGANG MAGAYON

Mayon Volcano is an active volcano in southern Luzon, Philippines, that dominates Legaspi City. It has a base 80 miles (130 kilometers) in circumference and rises to 8,077 feet (2,462 meters) from the coasts of Albay Gulf, earning it the title of the world's most perfect volcanic cone. Bikolanos also referred it as DARAGANG MAGAYON because it is a beautiful and a perfect cone shaped volcano!

Mayon Volcano National Park is home to the volcano, which is popular with climbers and campers (21 square miles [55 square km]). On the lower slopes, there are vast abaca plantations. Since 1616, there have been more than 30 eruptions.
