Leshan Giant Buddha Museum is also the Leshan City Museum.
The collection is quite standard, nothing too surprising, but the architecture of the Leshan Giant Buddha Museum is truly amazing. It combines indoor and outdoor spaces, with one entire wall borrowing from the natural cliff face, and there's even a cliff tomb cave—so cool! The hall also uses natural light, making the entire space feel very open.
The museum isn't very large, and part of it is an office, so you can tour it quite quickly.
One thing that left a deep impression on me was a 'Buddhist Statue Comparison Chart' inside, which I found very interesting.
They made a model group photo of several large Buddhist statues from across the country, directly comparing their sizes. I realized that I had already seen some of them without specifically going to see them!
There's also a mini version of the Leshan Giant Buddha inside, which is kind of cute, and features of ancient Shu culture—a smiling pottery figurine. I was charmed by it when I saw it at the Chengdu Museum! The smile is so joyful! This place indeed has a magical power to make people happy! It has never changed through the ages.
